The State Port Complex itself is formed by public and private terminals which are briefly described below:


PORT OF VITÓRIA

Is a public port and is comprised of the Commercial and Capuaba terminals, the first, located on Island of Vitória and second in the Municipality of Vila Velha. Both terminals are under the authority of the Federal State Owned Company of CODESA. The terminals are equipped with a total of 12 berths and can handle all types of cargoes.




PORT OF TUBARÃO

This is a private terminal owned and operated by CVRD (Cia Vale do Rio Doce). The Port of Tubarão is located only 18km from the city of Vitória and is considered to be the world's largest seaport loading iron ore and iron ore pellets, which are also produced and handled by CVRD.




PORT OF BARRA DO RIACHO

This is a public port located in the north of the State of Espírito Santo, approximately 90km from the city of Vitória. The port is at the moment comprised of only one private terminal which is owned and operated by Portocel which is a specialised terminal operating wood pulp and celulose loading.




PORT OF PRAIA MOLE

This is a private terminal composed of two separate terminals for bulk cargoes. One terminal, which discharges bulk cargoes such as coal, fertilisers and minerals, is operated by CVRD (Cia Vale do Rio Doce) and has a pier with two berths, using three ship-to-shore cranes for the dischage operation. The second terminal is the TPS (Steel Products Terminal), operated by a consortium composed of three steel companies, CST (Tubarão Steel Company), Açominas and Usiminas.




PORT OF PONTA DE UBU

This is a private port owned and operated by SAMARCO Mining Company. The port is located in the south of the state, approximately 100km from the city of Vitória and equipped with one pier with two berths.
